Sporting Activities

THE 20TH BRITISH OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT IS HELD AT ST ANDREWS 15TH -18TH JULY 2010

Open Golf properties available

The central geographical position of Newburgh gives access all the sporting facilities and activities you could wish for on holiday: golf, fishing (salmon, trout and sea fishing), cycling (the Fife Millennium routes), skiing and snowboarding, walking (hill, coastal and forest), climbing, tennis, sailing, horse riding, horse racing, motor racing, gliding, and sky diving.

The world famous golf courses at St Andrews, Gleneagles and Carnoustie are within less than an hour's reach. You can play on their famous holes, or visit when the Open Tournament returns to St Andrews in 2010, and the Ryder Cup makes its momentous visit to Gleneagles in 2014.

Scotland sees itself as Europe's adventure capital and all adventure sports are in easy reach. The 4 skydiving centres are in Fife and Perth, the Glenshee Ski Centre with its 36 runs is an hour away. There is river rafting in Perthshire, kite surfing on the beautiful beaches at St Andrews. This area is a microcosm of what Scotland has to offer for walkers and all who love the outdoors.
